Hello Ames High. I am Coach Williams, the head coach of the volleyball program. I grew up in Southwest Iowa and was a multisport athlete all through grade school to high school. My real love was volleyball. I went on to play a year at Dana College and then transferred to play at Buena Vista University where I was an OH/RH. While at BVU, I received my Bachelors in Science Degree majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry. I started at Hach, in Ames, as a chemist technician and then moved my way to a Lead(supervisor) in our Test Strip department. I've been the head Freshmen coach at Lincoln high school the past 5 years. I have also coached club the last 5 years, as well, from 14s to 17s groups. In my spare time  I play sand/indoor volleyball, train for half marathon/full marathons, and hiking with my dog Bentley.

Hey everyone! I’m Ashley Pelton. I come from the southwest suburbs of Chicago about 20 miles from the city! I grew up playing volleyball since I was 8 years old and then started coaching and playing as a freshman in high school. I played for a year at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa and ran a 5-1 setting. I didn’t adapt very well to the small school and small town, so I transferred to Iowa State where I am graduating in December 2019 with a marketing degree. I coached the sophomore team at Ames high last year and the 7th grade state AAU team in the winter. In my free time I enjoy photography, playing volleyball, and hanging out with my friends!

Hello! My name is Elizabeth Cuvelier, but people call me Biz. I am currently a junior at Iowa State University in Elementary Education. I grew up in the small town, New Hartford, Iowa. I played for an AAU team through Dike New Hartford during elementary school, then moved on to play for a USA team called Six Pack through middle school. We traveled all over the country and competed at the national level. As I moved to high school, I played for Dike New Hartford High School and was a part of the State Championship team my freshman and sophomore year. As far as coaching experience, this is actually my first year as a coach! I was blessed to grow up in a home with both parents as coaches though. Being the daughter of coaches, I was able to see first-hand the dedication and commitment it takes to be a coach. I cannot wait to be a part of the Ames High School Volleyball coaching staff. It is a privilege to get this opportunity and I can’t wait to bring what I have learned with my experiences, to the players, practices, and games every day. I hope to bring some positivity, encouragement, and passion to this program. I hope to help the athletes become better versions of themselves. Go Ames High!
